Aged 10 years, it’s barrier-filtered from the cask to remove unwanted char particles – and that’s all that comes between you and the real Laphroaig.
The folk at Laphroaig don’t chill-filter the Original Cask Strength, and they don’t reduce its natural strength. So, what you pour is what we draw from the barrel — the heart of charred seasoned oak barrels, peat smoke and nutty barley, in a truly natural experience.
Batch 16 is the most powerful expression within the Cask Strength family, characterised by a 58.5% proof point and notes of vanilla and sea salt.
Nose: Sweet, stewed apples topped with crispy, slightly caramelized pastry. This is underpinned by hints of cereal, tanned leather and vanilla.
