Age: 12 Year Old
Alcohol ABV: 46%
Bottle Size: 70cl
Description: Single Malt
Distillery: Glengyle
Region: Campbeltown
After 12 years and a fair variety of Work In Progress bottlings, the first core release of single malt Scotch whisky from the Glengoyle Distillery after reopening in 2004 is ready!
This Kilkerran 12 Year Old is lightly peated and non-chill filtered - meaning the whisky retains original colour, aroma and taste.
Matured in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% Sherry casks, this is a whisky to be had!
90.5 points Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.
Nose: Oak notes dominate, followed by the slightest hint of toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding. Cherries, marzipan and a touch of peat appear as well.
Palate: Initially full of fruit with citrus dominating. Next is vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits.
Finish: Smooth with lemon meringue. As you would have come to expect from a Campbeltown dram, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness but overall this whisky doesn't disappoint!
