JUAN LOPEZ

A Spanish businessman named Juan Lopez Diaz founded his eponymous brand in the 1870’s.

Although little known around the world today, Juan Lopez has always attracted a following amongst aficionados of Havanas, most notably for the Selección No.2 size.

The brand offers a consistent medium to full flavour based on a rich blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone and both sizes are ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade.

SELECCION NO. 1

A comparatively unknown brand in Britan, Juan Lopez offers here a well tailored Corona Gorda nicely presented in a Cabinet Selection bundle of 25 (When purchased as such) Medium to full in taste with pleasant spicy overtones.

Tasting Notes

Full bodied and very complex, a perfect burn and good draw.

----

93 / 100

"Earth and wood set the tone for this cigar, which draws and burns evenly. Further notes of mixed nuts, wheat, licorice and nougat take shape on the palate for a rich smoking experience..."

One of my favourite smokes. I'm a novice so I don't feel qualified to give an opinion on flavours save to say that this has a distinctive and pleasant cedar wood taste to it. Well made quality cigar.

Ordered after a recommendation on Facebook as I must say I really enjoyed this cigar. As others have said, the draw is nice and effortless and the smoke thick and creamy. Yes, there isn't as much of a "development" of flavour as you're smoking as perhaps you would find on other cigars but the flavour is consistent right from the first lighting. A sort of chocolatey and slightly earthy flavour with a very subtle spice note. It's a fine looking, fine smoking cigar which still leaves you feeling "functional" after smoking. One I would definitely order again.

I found the draw fine and a woody flavor with some hints of coco. Nice wrapper, very oily, and smooth. Long creamy finish. written by Michael

A lightly powered corona gorda with an easy draw and a limited flavor range. An average smoke for daytime whiles. written by ca
