JOYA DE NICARAGUA

50 years ago, Joya de Nicaragua pioneered an industry by crafting the first cigars to ever come out of Nicaragua. Today, they are thriving like never before, thanks to their skilful and resilient people. For JDN, quality is not an obligation, it is their highest commitment.

JOYA RED

Joya Red is the cigar for the modern smoker. It offers a vibrant and extremely pleasant smoking experience you will enjoy anytime, anywhere. Classy as always, but a lot more fun.

Tasting Notes

This is a medium bodied cigar. The combination of these premium tobaccos from our beloved Nicaragua results in a balanced blend with medium strength and captivating flavours. Smooth nutty notes and hints of peppers.

This Joya perfectly captures the bold, earthy character that Nicaraguan cigars are known for. As someone still learning the nuances of cigar profiles, I’ve found Joya to be one of the most consistent and rewarding brands to explore. Every cigar in their range feels thoughtfully made, with reliable construction and a clear sense of identity. The overall flavor profile leans toward rich, full-bodied notes—earth, spice, coffee, and cocoa—balanced by subtle sweetness and depth. Even their lighter offerings, like the Cabinetta, carry a distinct Nicaraguan warmth, while blends such as the Red, Black, and Antaño showcase increasing layers of strength and complexity. What stands out most is how each cigar seems to build upon the next, offering a clear path of progression for anyone developing their palate. Draws are typically smooth, the smoke output generous, and the burn performance consistently reliable. Joya cigars invite you to slow down and appreciate the craftsmanship behind every leaf. For me, the brand represents confidence and authenticity—bold flavors without pretense, and quality that never feels inaccessible. Rating: 8/10

Very nice light tan cigar, very nice size. Aromas of barnyard. Sweet and tangy on the lips. Wonderful complex but mild flavours. Very good value.

Perfect introduction to a Nicaraguan puro. Smooth, mild, leather and sweet notes thanks to the Nicaraguan Jalapa tobacco used in the blend. David - C.Gars Ltd Cigar Ambassador

Very different in character to the Robusto. Lots of peppery smoke this time (and sweet hay), typical of the Joya de Nicaragua of times past. Good tobacco flavour with touches of varnished oak. Nice job!
