Jose L. Piedra is a particularly noteworthy Habano not only because its blend is composed of filler tobaccos grown exclusively in the Remedios tobacco region, but also because it is made using the totally hand made, short filler technique.

The Piedra family came to Cuba in the 1880's from the Spanish province of Asturias. They settled near the town of Santa Clara, which lies at the heart of the Remedios region where tobacco has been grown since the 16th century, and started to make cigars.

Tasting Notes

Hand rolled with short filler. Very pleasant taste and aroma.

Excellent value. Rich and interesting smoke. A slight tendency to unravel, but nothing dramatic. Buy with confidence.

Not a complex one. Irregular, but good from 2/3 to the end. Bit pepper in the end. Can get more good option at the same price...

Great, when you get a good one. I got given one of these and decided after smoking it, that I would get a pack of five. I have just literally given up on the last one, which was very poorly constructed, had a wrapper that almost fell apart and a draw that was so tight you couldn’t get a whisper of air through it! Out of the pack of five, three had various issues, including bad construction, wrappers that were cracked and unrolled, general bitterness and tunnelling when lit. The two that I had that were good, were really good, nice and spicy and really good flavours. Just not sure I want to pay £35/40 a pack for 2/5 cigars to be decent.

Dont waste your money, every single one Ive had is plugged, Ive tried straight out of the packet, rested from the humidor, bored out with a perfect draw. Nothing Ive tried can make them anywhere near smokeable.
