This was the last of a budget Cuban sampler which I enjoyed today with a couple of cups of Grumpy Mule Honduran Coffee, after a mornings graft in the garden. When it arrived it was a little dry, so left it in the humidor for four weeks and it was just right despite the wrapper appearing dry. The wrapper is veiny and it has a rustic look to it. I clipped it before I remembered it had a short filler, this resulted in it being a little flaky initially; might have been better if I hadpierced it with a match stick. It is too small to use a punch. It lit easily and burned very evenly. There was plenty of creamy smoke. The first ash fell after approx third of the smoke on a windy day. Two more ash drops for the entire length. The draw was very easy and consistent throughout. On my palate this was a mild to medium and I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall taste and quality of the smoke. I enjoyed it enough to smoke it right out without any temptation to stub it out early. The taste was consistent apart from the last inch when it started to taste just a little hot and too peppery for me. It didn’t require relighting until the last inch when I was distracted and left it a few minutes between draws. Overall this was an enjoyable 30 min smoke. At the right price these are a good humidor filler for when you have a quiet half an hour between SHMBO finding you another job !!

Outstanding cigar for the money! Confirms again, that Cuban cigars are the best in the world. I have tried top brands from Nicaragua, Dom Rep, and Honduras in my quest for cheaper cigars that deliver on taste and all New World cigars fall short of the mark perhaps with the exception of Arturo Fuenta. I enjoyed this so much, I cant wait to try Jose L Piedras other sizes. RECOMMENDED - dont hesitate to buy.

As a relatively new cigar smoker who is on a tight budget.Thought I would try one of these and boy I am so glad I did. Great flavour all the way down to the nub. Well constructed. A great burn and no need to relight. Ash held on well. A 45 minute smoke. My pocket money will buy more of these and not Airfix models. Cannot recommend these enough. BUY BUY BUY

Recently Ive had to tighten my cigar budget and was looking for something affordable but can also be a good humidor filler. After extensive searching for bundles, I came across this stick. I went in and bought 5 straight away. What I didnt expect was to smoke all 5 within a couple of days. I was thoroughly impressed with the build and feel of the cigar. A few green spots here and there but nothing undesirable. The light and burn was consistent, the draw was decent. As mentioned previously by others, the flavour was very mild and not very exciting or complex but that, by no way means, doesnt mean it was not enjoyed. In fact, it was a little difficult to not smoke another a few hours later given the price. Of course this isnt going to be the best cigar but damn, this will be a regular purchase. For a Cuban at this price is say its a 10/10 for value. This is a must have for any humidor. Its nothing to show off but nothing to be ashamed about either.

I have bought these exact cigars 3 times over the years and whilst they aren't often the best rolled of the Jose L Piedra range I feel the need to write an accurate review of them. Some of those produced aren't rolled correctly (sometimes to tightly, but not overly) but overall I find it crazy that ANY large gauge and large length size smoker hasn't at least given these a go. Iv been smoking Cubans and non Cubans REGULARLY for 15 years and I honestly believe you wont find better bang for your buck than the Jose L Piedra range. I'm not going to name the other high end Cubans I believe this is better than... However, you should really give these a go as although you may get a single bad one out of every 50 that the other 49 would honestly warrant double their price tag.
