Description

Islay Barrel Aged Rum is a uniquely Scottish expression, matured in oak casks that once held peaty Islay single malt whisky.

Scotland’s cool maritime climate slows the ageing process, allowing deeper integration of flavours.

The result is a smooth yet bold rum with gentle smoke, sweet vanilla, and a touch of coastal salinity.

Bottled at 46% ABV.

 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Light smoke, green bananas, caramel, and leather. Some expressions show delicate fruit, baking spices, and a hint of white wine gum.

Palate: A combination of sweet vanilla and sea-salted caramels with pronounced peaty smoke, maritime salinity, and charred banana. Notes of white pepper and clove may also appear.

Finish: Long, mouth-filling, and reminiscent of a high-aged spirit with lingering wood, vanilla, and spice.
