Tasting Notes
Islay Rum Geal:
Nose: Fresh, clean, and ester-driven. Notes of coconut cream, almonds, green banana peel, toffee, and light citrus.
Palate: Rich and creamy mouthfeel, balancing sweet butterscotch and ripe tropical fruit (pear) with savoury vegetal notes, white pepper, and hints of anise.
Finish: Smooth, robust, and lingering with a subtle maritime influence.
Islay Rum Peat Spiced:
Nose: Intense peat smoke, candied orange peel, ginger, and aniseed.
Palate: Sweet yet smokey, with notes of dark chocolate, orange zest, cacao nibs, star anise, and allspice.
Finish: Long and indulgent, often described as smoked liquid Christmas cake or ashy/dry.
Islay Rum Barrel Aged:
Nose: Light smoke, green bananas, caramel, and leather. Some expressions show delicate fruit, baking spices, and a hint of white wine gum.
