Description

The easy thing to do is to have one master Whisky Maker call the shots when making a whisky. Well, no one ever said the folk at Highland Park liked doing things the easy way.

Triskelion is the product of three legendary Highland Park Whisky Makers – Gordon Motion, Max McFarlane and John Ramsay – coming together to explore the influence of wood and cask seasoning on this whisky.

Highland Park three Master Whisky Makers hand-selected and combined three principal cask types: first-fill sherry seasoned Spanish oak butts, first-fill sherry seasoned American oak casks and ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, with a small number of refill casks added to provide a degree of softness to the single malt whisky’s final flavour.

The result is a complex and full-bodied expression of Highland Park – a vibrant union of tangy Seville oranges, sultanas and raisins, sweet apricots, heather honey, stomped coriander seeds and aromatic peat smoke. A single malt as full of character as its three creators.

Highland Park have been crafting our award-winning whisky at their Distillery in Kirkwall, Orkney, since 1798. Age, experience and respect for tradition may define their whisky, but it’s Orkney that sets it apart.

Something magic happens here and the result is the wild harmony of flavours found in their whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Complex and full-bodied, revealing delicious notes of Seville oranges, sultanas, raisins and sweet apricots with hints of vanilla-laden crème brûlée and cloudy heather honey.

Palate: A suggestion of crushed coriander seed provides aromatic warmth and our signature light peat smoke unites each layer of flavour.

Finish: This vibrant union of rich fruit, creamy sweetness and aromatic spice is as full of character as its three makers.
