Description

Since 1865, the Glenfarclas distillery has been run and owned by only one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas.

The family casks are some of the most sought after whiskies in the world! 

The impressive cask stock in the Glenfarclas warehouses means there has been a great output of vintage distillery bottlings in addition to their core range age statements.

In 2006, the distillery had an unbroken string of vintages dating back to 1952, and launched the Family Casks range that year, an annual release which showcases the very best of these.

Distilled in 1970 and matured in Sherry hogshead #2026 until December 2014, this is one of 148 bottles produced.

Tasting Notes

 

 

Nose: A fruity nose with apples and pears prominent.
 
Palate: Enticing flavours of fruit (apples/peaches/pears). A little smoky as the palate continues. 
 
Finish: Another great lingering finish for this dram.
