Single malt spirit, Sherry, and virgin oak casks, with twelve years in the perfect whisky ageing spot, produces a stunning dram. GlenAllachie Distillery perches on the Aberlour stream near the end of the river Spey. Its closest neighbour is Aberlour at the base of Ben Rinnes. It was originally built to produce spirit for blended scotch in 1967. This liquid has influence from both Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks, resulting in a heavy palate of Dried Fruit and Vanilla. A heavy-set vanilla and almond on the nose, followed up by wildflower marmalade. A very smooth palate of honey and liquorice followed by a anise and soft lemony citrus.
