A 13-year-old Glenallachie 2009 bottled in 2022 as part of the seventh release of Glenallachie single casks selected by head honcho Billy Walker for the UK market.
This 2009 Glenallachie 13-year-old comes from single cask #3712, a wine barrique that was formerly home to Sauternes, the famous Bordeaux dessert wine.
Bottled without colouring or chill filtration, this Sauternes cask yielded a total of 312 bottles of 13-year-old Glenallachie 2009 at a hefty natural cask strength of 59.4%.
Nose: Bursting with heather honey, citrus and chocolate, with cinnamon, mocha and green apples.
Palate: Lashings of tropical fruit, honeyed apricots and butterscotch.
Finish: Followed by baking spices, marmalade and caramelised biscuit.
