Description

A miniature bottle of Spey Royal Fine Old Scotch Whisky, sealed with a cork stopper.

This was distilled, blended and bottled in Scotland by W A Gilbey Limited. We estimate this was bottled in the 1950s.

The label carries a royal warrant by appointment to the Late King George VI.

This bottle is from a large collection of miniatures purchased by the seller at an auction in 1979. The collection is mainly comprised of blended Scotch whiskies and single malts bottled in the first half of the 20th century.

Spey Royal was launched following the takeover of James Catto & Co. by W & A Gilbey in 1916. The group, which owned Glen Spey, Knockando and Strathmill distilleries, eventually merged in 1962 with United Wine Traders to form International Distillers and Vintners (now Diageo).

Please note, there is no size stated on the labels.

Please note as this is a vintage whisky, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - note, wear to label and capsule & fill level.
