Foursquare Equidem Exceptional Cask Mark XXVII - 61% 70cl

The 27th release of the award winning Foursquare Exceptional Cask Selection Series.

Equidem is an unusual expression from Foursquare. Their team have combined brilliant pot and column distilled rum which has been aged in intriguing casks.

Specifically a 14 year old bourbon matured Foursquare, combined with Foursquare matured in bourbon for 5 years, before a 9 year 2nd maturation in a Black Muscat cask from a French winery. 

 This is the first time Foursquare have used this kind of wood in maturation!

Nose: Rich treacle tart, juicy sultanas, overripe nectarines, and Victoria plums, with hints of zesty citrus, marzipan, ginger, and dried turmeric.

Palate: Velvety smooth, with light caramel leading into luscious jammy summer fruits, peach, and more Victoria plums.

Finish: A warming, lingering close with notes of black tea, ginger, and peppery spice.
