The perfect new world alternative to H. Upmann cigars in my opinion. Delivers a mild and toasted coffee sweet experience thanks to this great Nicaraguan Sungrown cultivated wrapper. David - C.Gars Ltd Cigar Ambassador

A nice solid feeling, great looking cigar. Slight touching up needed but not as bad as the 1922. Easy draw, bit too easy for my tastes, I prefer slightly tighter. If you like wood and cedar flavours with a floral aftertaste then this is as good as it gets. Personally I prefer coffee and cocoa so wouldnt buy again, but still appreciated what a great stick this was.

This cigar was great. During the first third I had a bit of a wonky burn, but after a quick correction it burnt beautifully right up until the nub. The ash held incredibly well which is a testament to its construction. As for tasting notes I had, earthy, leathery and slight peppery tones right up until the last third where sweet dark chocolatey molasses took over. The reason I am only giving it 4 out of 5 stars is, in my taste, it was more full bodied than medium as described. But that is just my taste and should take nothing from the cigar itself.

My Father, Flor de las Antillas is one of my personal favourite Nicaraguan hand-made premium cigars and is mild to medium in strength. Very well constructed using a lovely Sun-grown wrapper and different tobaccos from Nicaragua. The presentation is beautiful in a lovely box pressed format with 20 cigars per box. I love the belicoso size. I smoke them with my personal way of cutting the top on an angle for a great smoking experience. The cigar begins very smooth with dry cedar and roasted almond notes on the palate which then progress into a very creamy and milky-coffee notes keeping the dry cedar flavour at the same time. The flavours are consistence in the last third but leaving a hint of white pepper note on the palate. This FDLA line reminds me a very similar taste to H.Upmann cigars from Cuba. So, it is a great achievement by My Father cigars. Good value and lovely smoke experience for all occasions. A perfect present for Father’s Day. David. Turmeaus Est 1817 Cigars and Whisky, Liverpool.
