DREW ESTATE

The Drew Estate story is one of daring, heartbreak & success but, most of all, one of passion for cigars and the country of Nicaragua, where we have been making cigars since 1996.

Jonathan Drew & Marvin Samel are not your average cigar makers, their story does not start in Cuba, or with fathers in the cigar business. It started with a dream, and through their can-do spirit and never-say-die attitude made Drew Estate one of the premier cigar manufacturers on the planet. The two frat brothers from New York started out small…. Small, as in a 16 square foot retail kiosk in the World Trade Center in NYC.

In late 1998, Jonathan Drew moved to Esteli, Nicaragua with the hopes of starting a rebirth in the cigar world. With a handful of rollers and an even smaller handful of money, the story of “That Crazy Gringo” began.

SG

The Undercrown SG features an Ecuadorian Sumatra seed, Sun-Grown wrapper. The binder is a Connecticut River Valley Stalk Cut/Cured Sun Grown, complimenting a powerhouse blend of Nicaraguan premium fillers. One leaf of extensively aged Ligero from the Nueva Segovia region along the border of Honduras has been selected to enhance the strength of the blend.

From his Wynwood Safehouse, Jonathan Drew President and Founder of Drew Estate, “Returning to Drew Estate as the Fourth President is immensely inspiring and satisfying. The collaborative consortium of creative talent at every level is our core competency. Challenging Willy Herrera and the Undercrown Blending Team to create the new expression after finally securing sun-grown tobacco is extremely exciting, as they have tried to secure this Sumatra Ecuador tobacco for over 15 years. The SG continues the legacy of “Blended on the Factory Floor.”

pactful blends.”

First let me thank Drew Estate, and (The Nicaraguan people) so much for this great Cigar. Full body, the draw, burn, and construction are amazing. Varied bouquet of Flavors, aromas, and after tastes.. Such as ... woody, leather, earthy, coffee, chocolate, peppery, and rich smoke. I will make sure keeps a large number of these woooow fancy sticks in my cigar humidors. Thank you so much C.GARS , Michelle Adler for all excellent choices and services. ✨

I bought one of these after seeing a lot of reviews online, if I liked it, I would get a box! Great quality cigar, burn shape and time excellent! I gotta say I was expecting something a little sweeter being a sungrownm, its there but its very subtle, or it was for me anyway. So the first few draws are full bodied in every way. Lots of pepper, earth and leather flavours on the draw with a long peppery finish. The first third echos the first few draws but mellowing out to a medium to full. Sweet tobacco and malt, earth and pepper are the main notes. Hints of leather and cedar coming through. Peppery finish fading nicely. Second third not much change, lots of nice flavours just a bit more mild than the first third. Final third, still the same flavours intensifying slightly, some espresso coming through. All in all a very nice cigar. Realistically a medium to full, none of the sweets coming through. The smoke is thick and creamy and surprisingly not the incense stick Im used to with Drew Estate! Very enjoyable, would go nicely with a peaty whisky. Lasted around 1 hour although I tend to smoke a little quicker when Im outside in the cold. Would I buy a box? Yeah why not ;)
