Description

The Drew Estate Orchant Seleccion Middleweight Cigar is part of the exclusive Orchant Seleccion range, created in collaboration between Mitchell Orchant and the master blenders at Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua.

This 4 1/2 inch cigar with a 46 ring gauge delivers a balanced, medium to full-bodied smoking experience. Designed for structure and refinement, the Middleweight sits perfectly between the lighter and heavier expressions in the range.

Wrapped in stalk cut Connecticut leaf and blended with tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Nicaragua and Connecticut Broadleaf, this cigar opens with notes of cedar and roasted nuts before developing subtle spice and earthy depth through the second half. The finish is composed, smooth and satisfying.

Handcrafted at Drew Estate’s Gran Fabrica in Esteli, this exclusive cigar is carefully selected to offer consistency, complexity and excellent value.

Cigar Details:

  • Length: 4 1/2 inches

Ideal for a 45 to 60 minute smoke, the Middleweight is a popular choice among those looking for a refined robusto-sized cigar with dependable construction and balanced character.

Tasting Notes

From first light, the Middleweight introduces warm cedar and lightly roasted nuts, carried on a smooth, steady draw. The stalk cut Connecticut wrapper adds a gentle natural sweetness that keeps the opening balanced and refined.

As the cigar progresses, subtle spice begins to emerge alongside earthy undertones and a touch of cocoa richness. The blend remains structured and composed, delivering complexity without overpowering the palate.

In the final third, the profile deepens slightly with darker wood notes and a faint pepper warmth, finishing clean, smooth and satisfying. The overall experience is controlled and elegant, making it an ideal medium to full-bodied cigar for those seeking balance and depth in equal measure.

Ended up getting this as my mystery cigar. I was expecting a decent smoke having looked at the reviews. Sadly ended up with a bad cigar. I found myself battling to get an even burn. It was a little all over the place, which took away from the experience. Had to admit defeat half way through. Not sure I’d give this a go again.

Received the Drew Estate Orchant seleccion middleweight as a £10 mystery cigar addition to my order (result!!!) Firstly this gave off lots of smoke from the burn and the draw (which I personally like) the burn was nice and even and the aroma was nice. The draw was nice and easy with a nice taste and it lasted best part of an hour. All in all an enjoyable stick, recommended.

Received this in my “try something new; mystery selection” and I enjoyed it. A really good looking cigar with a dark chocolate colour. Had a lovely sweet taste in the 1st third which I enjoyed with a double espresso. The final 3rd was where it came alive and got deeper and left a wonderful aftertaste. Became a little peppery which balanced the sweetness well. The draw was good and it’s a well wrapped cigar, which showed in the ash retention. I would get this again

This Drew Estate Orchant Seleccion Middleweight Cigar is a really good looking cigar I really like the band on it. Construction was very good, perfect draw, and even burn took me nearly an hour to smoke it. It was a very good experience. Only downside was it was a small one. I would recommend it it was unexpectedly complex.

I don't know what went wrong but the burn was all over the place and I simply could not get on with it at all. Gave up! Unpleasant aromas too.
