I wasn't sure how this cigar would taste but I was pleasantly surprised. A didn't find it as peppery as some of the other reviewers. A bit of black pepper on light up but it soon dies down. Great burn line, good smoke output, burns quite slowly and tastes amazing. San Andres wrapper and broadleaf binder, you can't go wrong. I usually smoke Toro or Robusto vitolas in other cigars but this cigar suits a corona vitola. I will definitely buy more!

So pleased with this! I ordered the Drew Estate Blackened ranger sampler and this was the first one I tried. A birthday treat and smoked in the rain with a glass of Westerhall Plantation rum. It took me 35-40 minutes before I very sadly finished this superb creation. Smooth, smoky, creamy and deeply satisfying. I'm really looking forward to trying the others in the sampler but even in the worst case scenario, I know I can come back to this one. Well done Drew Estate!

I had been wanting to try this for a while due to the great reviews it had been receiving in the cigar press, and now it is available in the UK. First impressions were of an attractive and well constructed cigar that cuts, lights and draws easily. It also had one of the most even burns that I have experienced for a while. However, although the tasting notes are generally correct (chocolate and espresso in the background) I didn't pick up much sweetness or fruit due to the overwhelming taste of pepper. I don't mind strong and spicy, but you can have too much of a good thing. For me this cigar lacks balance in the way it delivers its flavours. Perhaps some more age/time in the humidor would help, or a different vitola. I wouldn't out anyone off trying this if strong and peppery is your thing but, personally, I don't think that I am likely to try this again as it didn't quite live up to the hype.
