Dorchadas Washed Ashore Barbados is a limited-edition, ultra-rare rum crowned International Rum of the Year 2025.
This 15-year-old blend of pot and column still Barbadian molasses rums was matured for five years in ex-bourbon casks in Barbados, before spending a further decade in Scotland, finished in first-fill red wine and second-fill English whisky casks.
Bottled at a powerful 56.4% ABV, it delivers rich molasses depth layered with wooded vanilla, soft spice and warm oak, culminating in a long, opulent finish.
Limited to just 231 bottles, this 70cl release is a striking expression shaped by both tropical heat and cool Scottish ageing.
Nose: Rich, featuring buttery banana, hot orange, and vanilla.
Palate: Medium-bodied, offering "adult wine gums" (intense, fruity Agricole notes), caramelized sugar, and a savoury, smoky edge.
Finish: Long and sophisticated, with lingering baking spices, leather, and dry oak tannins.
