WINSTON CHURCHILL
There is only one Winston Churchill and only one cigar that can do justice to the man. Davidoff Winston Churchill cigars present a blend as complex as the man himself.

BELICOSO
Throughout his life Sir Winston was a traveller, a wayfarer, exploring the world through his work as a war correspondent, widening his horizons and his mind. This took him to Cuba and to the beginning of his love affair with cigars. Indeed seeds from the island are in the fabric of the Belicoso. Later, his roaming spirit would take him to Marrakesh, the inspiration for many of his paintings and a location as rich and full-flavoured as this Belicoso format cigar, which would certainly satisfy Sir Winston’s taste for the exotic.

It’s hard to review this cigar as a stand-alone smoke, without considering where it sits in the Davidoff Dominican range. It’s obviously a larger format than the primeros at the same price, but I think there is a slight compromise for that. It feels like a more serious cigar but it also felt, dare I say, lacking in the usual Davidoff sophistication. It’s a decent hit of nicotine but it’s not as smooth as the primeros or the entreacto. First third left me hoping something would ‘kick in’, second third gave me a couple of lovely hits of cream and spice, which were disappointingly inconsistent and far too brief and the final third teetered on the edge of being hot. Draw and construction were fine, although mine was a tiny bit on the tight side, which I don’t mind I must say. The aroma is fantastic! Personally, I’d go primeros for the money, or spend a few more pennies to get one of the serious Davidoff’s. If the cream and spice ran throughout, this would be amazing, but then I doubt it would cost only ten pounds of your hard earned. Slightly confusing one this, which tends to result in a re-visit!!

Im still fairly new to cigars but of the 20 odd varieties Ive tried this is, without doubt, the best smoke Ive had.

I am new to cigars and exploring different tastes, lengths and ring gauges - this is a perfect little cigar with lovely smooth taste and smoke texture. lots of smoke too.

I can see why these are so highly rated, they are superb. Super light and creamy. A smooth smoke throughout thats mild, but flavourful enough to thoroughly enjoy. A solid stick thats definitely one to go back to when you want something a bit more mellow. I got about 45 minutes out of my last one if I recall correctly (who actually times it anyway), and its definitely ideal for those new to cigars, prefer a creamier experience, or dont want to broadcast your habit to the entire pub garden.
