Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, the Daftmill distillery is based on the family farm, and only runs during its quiet midsummer and winter periods.
This single malt was drawn from a selection of 13 first fill bourbon casks, distilled in 2007 and matured until 2023, when it was bottled at a hearty 56.3% ABV.
Nose: Rich herbal notes alongside biscuity sweetness, grassy olive oil and chamois leather.
Palate: Herbal/waxy palate with flavours of barley extract and mineral oils. Rich wood spice, herbs, toffee apple and sweet beer flavours.
Finish: The palate continues onto the finish, which is a good length. Full of pine sap, bay leaf and olive oil.
