This cigar features a unique and exclusive second band, allowing you to give a loved one a personalised and special gift.

Cohiba is the flagship brand of Habanos.

It was created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro himself and was made at the then top secret, but now world famous, El LLaguito factory. At first, it was only seen outside Cuba as gifts for heads of state and visiting diplomats.

Since 1982 Cohiba has been available in limited quantities to the open market.

The name is an ancient Taino Indian word for the bunches of tobacco leaves that Columbus first saw being smoked by the original inhabitants of Cuba - the earliest known form of a Habano.

The leaves for Cohiba are the "selection of selection" from the 5 finest Vegas de Primera in San Juan y Martinez and San Luis districts of the Vuelta Abajo zone.

Uniquely amongst Habanos up to three of Cohiba's filler leaves , the seco, ligero and the rare medio tiempo, undergo an additional fermentation in barrels. This unique process produces a special aroma and flavour you will only find in Cohiba.

-This sampler contains...

1 x Cohiba Robustos Cigar - 1 Single (50 x 4 7/8")

Tasting Notes

As a result of its strength and excellent blend this cigar has become one of the nine true Robustos. One of the most demanded Havanas in the market, a true gem.

"...Complex intonations of oak wood, slivered almonds and vanilla build in intensity and come together quite cohesively. A balanced, flavourful cigar with the perfect amount of resistance to the draw..."

So, had one last night. Now of the firm opinion that the Cohiba brand is being supplied and supposedly enjoyed on its reputation alone. I believe this is a scandal and the powers that be need to speedily rectify this, as there are still many out there who will happily smoke rubbish, as long as it has a black and yellow band. Trying to avoid the vast fake market is a headache in itself, but having the fear, that I have, that a thirty pound stick will probably not satisfy, has led me away from the brand I loved so much. Appearance, reasonable, thus pulling me in. Burn poor. Construction poor, draw difficult.Taste, nothing special. Was glad to finish it quickly, to get on to a partagas or Upmann. Actually, the same story last week with a Medio Siglo. Consistency in mediocrity. Avoid Cohibas, please.

A little underwhelming actually. A present. Not a brilliant draw and very insipid, virtually no discernible taste or flavour and halfway through. Maybe this is not a good one, though for £27... I have been smoking Regius though, so maybe these are meant to be light??

I bought this cigar as part of the Cuban Robusto Taster pack, and was my 3rd in said pack. As a newbie to cigar smoking, I was looking forward to this one, being arguably the best Cuban brand. It didnt disappoint. What a beauty. A smooth, even draw, plenty of smoke, but probably a bit strong for me. Another thing I really enjoyed (with a smile on my face), was the fact that I might not be able to afford a huge house, Aston Martin etc. But a working class Northerner can smoke some of the best cigars in the world...just like Winston.

This is my favourite medium size cigar although on the slightly price side for me. They are ideal for the special occasion. I can just finish work on a Friday order a take away and fine red wine and smoke this afterwards. The taste of exceptional, along with the draw and smoke.

Reviewed by Wes Burk (May 2004) I always try the punch first on these fatties and it proved to provide the perfect draw on this baby. I got massive Cuban flavor with leather and spice right off the bat. Every draw seemed to hint at different flavors; licorice on one pull, pepper on another, was that cocoa I tasted for a minute? The burn was even and the ash was dark but very firm! So firm, it lasted to the midway point before it fell on my shirt. The flavor was smooth but strong. The smoke was young but full and creamy. Towards the end of this beauty, the spice kicked up a notch. Pepper is my favorite spice and it shown through for the last third of this smoke. The most pronounced flavor consistently present through this entire cigar was the one most difficult to define, that lovely something that is only found in Habanos! There was one major problem with this cigar...........It didn't last long enough!! I didn't want it to end. It is what Cuban Cigars are all about! I give it a 94 and I've never given higher. Smoke was young ? Most pronounced flavour indefinable ? Oh...and licorice and cocoa ? Short, boring and pointless. Reviewed by Kevin R 3/10 Short and sweet - like the Robusto itself, may be a bit too short though. Agreed with the reviewer - there is a something in these cigars that makes them resolutely Cohiba (MRN calls it a grassy taste. I think that is about the most accurate I have come across). No mention of any accompanying drink, if indeed there was one. Reviewed by Richard Whitwell. Score: 7/10 Succinct and to the point ...I like that. I don't agree with the flavours detected with the exception of cocoa but cigar tasing is so personal and so many variable come into play. Score: 7.5/10 OVERALL SCORE: 17.5 /30
