The Cohiba Medio Siglo is one of those cigars that reminds you exactly why Cohiba sits at the top of the Cuban hierarchy. Even as someone still steadily building my experience, this cigar immediately felt like a masterclass in refinement. The short, stout format makes it approachable, but the flavor profile is pure Cohiba sophistication. On the cold draw, I picked up clean cedar, a touch of grassiness, and that unmistakable Cohiba creaminess lying underneath. Once lit, the Medio Siglo opened beautifully with smooth, velvety smoke. The first third gave me notes of honey, soft spice, and sweet hay—balanced, rounded, and elegant. As the cigar progressed, the flavors deepened into richer tones of toasted nuts, light cocoa, and warm earth, all carried by a consistently silky texture. The construction was flawless: tight seams, perfect draw, razor-straight burn line. What impressed me most was how balanced it stayed from start to finish. It never pushed too hard, never lost its composure. Everything felt deliberate and controlled. For a relatively short smoke, it delivers complexity and depth that many longer cigars can’t match. The Medio Siglo is smooth, creamy, aromatic, and unmistakably Cohiba. Rating: 9/10

what the hell is going on. I bought a pack of these a few months ago and was really looking forward to smoking them. All 3 cigars had impossibly tight draws and what smoke I could get through was very bitter. I dont blame cgars totally but I do think that cuban cigars in general are becoming very second rate and very expensive. I dont think these cigars are worth any money what so ever.

This is a nice cigar, there’s no bones about it, however, I’m struggling to justify the price tag. At £28 a pop, I can buy 3 or 4 really nice new world cigars, or cheaper Cubans. I didn’t feel that this was £20 better than some of the £8 per stick ones I’ve had. I had a box of Siglo Vs and thought the same, maybe from now on I will just stick to the mid rangers as I obviously (despite smoking cigars for 10 years now) haven’t got a refined enough palate to tell the difference. On a tasting note, this cigar was spicy, with lovely earthiness and robust flavour. I found the draw a little too hard, the same with other Cohibas, some are good and some try your patience. Get one and try it, you won’t be disappointed, just poorer...

Just about the perfect size and at 45/50 min provides perfect enjoyment time as well. All told a very decent cigar. Well constructed, these draw and burn well. Medium strength, offering well-rounded flavours which develop and strengthen as you go along. Consistent Cohiba quality but never boring. Given the price point these are very obviously not going to be an everyday smoke (well, for me anyway), but certainly one to return to time and again. Well worth keeping a couple (or more) in the box for those ‘me time’ moments...
