What a cigar! The biggest and most expensive cigar I’ve bought and smoked so far (a wee treat for myself). It’s definitely not a ‘novelty’ cigar at all. I have a large cigar cutter so it cut easily enough, It lights easily enough and from the first draw you can taste the quality of this one. Quite ‘rich’ and peppery and if I’m honest it’s slightly stronger than my usual choice of cigar but it burns well, didn’t need ‘touched up’ at all and it lasts a long time as you’d imagine. Due to the price it’s not the kind of cigar I will have very often but I would definitely recommend this to the cigar lover. If you’ve not tried this cigar and like to sample lots of different brands then I’d recommend you add this one to your list and enjoy it when you’ve got a couple of hours to yourself.

This is the biggest cigar I (or most people) have ever smoked. My husband got it for me, probably as a joke because he knows that I like wide ring gauge and dark wrappers, but this was a bit beyond. We needed to buy a cutter that could handle 80 gauge sizes before I could even start. It also took a long time to light, as you can imagine. But after that? Well, it’s just a cigar. Fairly full bodied, a nice flavour - leather, earth, a bit of coffee. Well constructed, but a slightly tight draw, surprisingly, and the burn needed correcting from time to time. On the whole, quite enjoyable and nothing to be scared of. To be honest, it wasn’t the size so much as the time involved that’d be an issue in future. It defeated me eventually so, as my husband bought it, I made him finish it.

I’ve waited to get my hands on one of these for a while. Absolutely worth the wait. What a fantastic cigar. The size, the taste and the smoke time out of it was a experience. Got to say, my new favourite cigar. The daddy of all cigars.

So I took the plunge after hearing from a friend how great the Goliath is. Personally I always thought it a bit of gimmick and not for avid cigar smokers. Was I wrong? Yes, okay it is on large size but man did it feel great in your hand. As a Cuban fan for many years I always stayed away from new world but I was totally surprised. It does take a few attempts to get it lit properly but once going it burned perfectly, the aroma and flavours were amazing. To me the Goliath and Hercule have trumped Havana cigars by a mile, definite convert here.

These are great, its huge size feels good in the mouth it lasts a few hours if smoked all at once but will last nearly all day. Does take a while to light fully and best to leave them for a few minutes after lighting to get the best draws. A nice flavour that doesnt change too much as its being smoked. They are worth the price.
