Description
On May 2nd, 2007, a significant fire engulfed the St. Lucia Distillers distillery, causing extensive damage to the storage facilities.
As a consequence, the distillery was compelled to seek alternative cask storage locations, leading to the inadvertent misplacement of certain casks.
These casks were recently rediscovered, revealing a remarkably exquisite quality of rum.
From a public relations perspective, this unexpected discovery proved to be an auspicious stroke of luck.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense and spicy, featuring notes of sweet raisins, caramel, coffee beans, cocoa, maple, and subtle hints of leather and tobacco.
Palate: Rich and smooth with a creamy texture, featuring flavors of apricot jam, toffee brittle, dark chocolate, and toasted oak.
Finish: Long and, with lingering notes of raisin, plum, and warm, smoky spices.
