Cavalier Geneve was founded by Sebastien Decoppet, originally from Geneva, Switzerland, after having lived in Danli, Honduras, in his early 20's. There he had been learning and working the premium cigar processes with Adin Perez from the San Judas Tadeo factory to mention only one.

Encounter after encounter with people such as David Rojas, Honduran artist that became a dear friend of Cavalier Geneve's family, creator of the horse and the man design that became the brand's logo, passing by the Eylin Decoppet's hands, who created the iconic gold diamond that now defines Cavalier Geneve, the brand took form and started to grow back in Switzerland before becoming available in multiple areas around the world such as North America, Europe, parts of Asia, middle east and parts of Africa.

Cavalier Black Label II cigars are a premium cigar brand that is part of the Cavalier Geneve brand family. These cigars are known for their bold and complex flavour profile, which is achieved through a blend of carefully selected tobacco leaves from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador. The wrapper on the Black Label II cigar is a Mexican San Andres maduro leaf, which gives the cigar a dark, oily appearance and a rich, full-bodied flavour.

The Cavalier Genève Black Series II is one of the more distinctive cigars aesthetically, with its signature gold diamond on the wrapper, but beyond looks, it also offers a solid smoking experience. As someone still refining my palate, I found it interesting, flavorful, and well-constructed, though slightly less consistent than others I’ve tried. The cold draw delivered notes of dark wood, dried fruit, and subtle cocoa. Once lit, the first third opened with medium-bodied flavors: earth, pepper, and a light mineral quality that seemed to be part of Cavalier’s signature style. The smoke output was good, and the draw stayed comfortable. Moving into the second third, I picked up more richness—espresso, dark chocolate, and a faint sweetness that helped round out the profile. There were moments where the flavors jumped beautifully, followed by stretches where the complexity backed off a little more than I expected. The burn required a couple of minor corrections, though not enough to ruin the experience. The final third had more intensity but stayed balanced enough to remain enjoyable. Overall, the cigar offers personality and depth, but with minor inconsistencies. Still, it’s a worthwhile smoke with a unique flavor identity. Rating: 7/10


Brilliant construction! A very enjoyable stick. I would not say it is as strong as other robustos but that does not take away from the amazing experience. Tasting note - walnut, espresso at the beginning, followed chocolate and leather, then the end pepper. Overall, it is amazing keeping into account the price as well. This is now one of my go to humidor top ups.


Was a enjoyable smoke medium spice not great with flavour profiles yet sorry. Would say medium strength had a great draw and good burn

