Description

This 16 year old is a limited distillery exclusive from Cardhu Distillery and forms part of 'The Four Corners of Scotland' collection.

The other 3 bottles consist of the Lowland Glenkinchie, Caol Ila from Islay and Highland distillery, Clynelish.

Cardhu is a Speyside distillery near Archiestown, Moray, Scotland founded by the whisky smuggler John Cumming in 1824. The distillery is currently run by Diageo and the distillery's Scotch whisky makes up an important part of the famous Johnnie Walker blended whiskies.

The word "Cardhu" derives from the Scots Gaelic Carn Dubh, meaning "Black Rock".

Pronunciation : "kar-doo"

This is one of only 3000 bottles.

Please note as this is a vintage bottle, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).

Tasting Notes

Nose: The lively, fresh and floral aroma yields grassy top notes with ripe orchard fruits and a trace of vanilla, on light balsa wood base.

Palate: The taste starts sweet, then there is a delicious spicy dryness as really peppery warmth lasts into the long finish. Adding a good dash of water calms this and brings out sweet, light juiciness.

Finish: The finish remains pleasingly long; sweet chilli-pepper heat lingers on the aftertaste.
