Description

Bunnahabhain has made the most of the remote location that they decided to build the distillery on.
 
Right on the Sound of Islay, they have harnessed the abundance of natural spring water to create a unique Islay whisky.
 
Distillery Manager Andrew Brown says this Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair (pronounced stew-rahdur, meaning helmsman) is the distillery's tribute to the sea and it's influence on their whisky.
 
Chosen from sherry casks of varying ages from different parts of the warehouse.
 
Full with flavours of sea salt and caramel atop a gentle spice and hints of nuts as dried fruit notes linger on in the finish!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruit and creamy caramel with hints of brine, vanilla, nuts and a touch of spice.

Palate: Creamy mouth feel with a dried fruit influence, sea salt, creamy caramel and gentle spice.

Finish:  Long and lingering with hints of dried fruit.
