Description
Bumbu Original Rum takes inspiration from a 16th-century West Indian tradition, when sailors infused rum with Caribbean fruits and spices.
Crafted using the finest sugarcane from sustainably managed farms across eight countries in the Caribbean and South America, it is distilled at a historic Barbadian distillery founded in 1893, where traditional stills date back to 1840.
After distillation and ageing, the rum is blended with all-natural native Caribbean ingredients, rested, blended again, and then bottled and corked.
Bottled at 40% ABV in 70cl, it offers a smooth, rich taste of Caribbean heritage.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Incredibly aromatic and sweet. The immediate scent is overwhelmingly rich with Madagascar vanilla, soft caramel, and strong cooked banana.
Palate: Very sweet and full-bodied. The signature banana note is backed by decadent toffee, baking spices (cinnamon and allspice), roasted nuts, and a touch of cocoa.
Finish: Smooth, light, and lingering. It leaves a warm, dessert-like aftertaste of banoffee and gentle spices with almost no harsh alcohol burn.
