From the Port Charlotte range from Bruichladdich comes this, 56.3% ABV peated whisky.

Port Charlotte 2009 9 Year Old MC:01 is a  heavily peated release from Bruichladdich Distillery is up now. which was produced in the Islay region of Scotland.

Originally intended for the travel retail market, it’s undergone a two fold maturation process. This Bruichladdich has spent time in French Oak and American ex-whisky casks before a final finishing period in ex-wine casks. 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Concentrated, complex and balanced. This nose oozes quality. Sugary sweet, deeply fruity, softly smoky and peaty.

Palate: Full bodied and oily in character. Black and white pepper. Dry-ish oakiness. Deeply sweet.

Finish: Long finish. Peat, soot, ashes. Sugary yet not very sweet. Dry yet not quite juicy. Leather, cinnamon and nuts. Rich and complex sweetness in the end.
