This is a very good quality and very good value cigar. It is a smooth and balanced cigar that lacks the last bit of complexity.
I am afraid that I am mostly using my review as a rant around the notion that “beginners” need a light cigar and then more sophisticated, more experienced smokers want something bigger, richer, stronger bla bla bla.
This is utterly ludicrous. Implicit in this is the notion that some big greasy dark cigar is more “advanced” or sophisticated or grown up than a Quai d’Orsay. Or by an analogy to wine, if you like a delicate Grand Cru Burgundy you are less advanced or sophisticated than someone who likes a Barossa Valley Shiraz. Rant over.
