Bomberger's Declaration is produced by Michter's in honour of the distillery's legacy. The distillery now named Michter's was founded in 1753 as Schenk's Farmstead distillery and later renamed to Bomberger's in the 1800s.
The fermented mash was distilled in Michter's 14 meter tall copper column still. This column still feeds into a 250L pot still, which can function as either a thumper, which strips impurities out of spirit vapour, or a doubler, which redistills liquid spirit.
The spirit was matured in a combination of American white oak and Chinquapin oak before late blending and bottling.
