Spot Whiskey is a collection of premium single pot still whiskeys produced at the Midleton distillery.

Spot Whiskey is named after the tradition of marking casks with a coloured spot to indicate their age potential, a system Spot use today to indicate the age of their expressions.

Spot whiskey is highly regarded for its quality and craftsmanship, with each “Spot” offering a unique tasting experience.

Drawn from a combination of bourbon, sherry, and Madeira casks, bottled up at cask strength, Mitchell & Son has relaunched Blue Spot as a triple distilled 7 year old single pot still Irish whiskey.

Non chill filtered and bottled at cask strength, nothing is added or taken away, for a whiskey that is full flavoured and uniquely satisfying.

Pease note due to changing cask strength editions, the ABV can vary.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A light mix of pineapple, kiwi, green banana and lime zest followed by Pot Still spices, baked apple, hazelnut and toasted wood. A medley of puddings follow: banana custard, apple pie, and frangipane tart.

Palate: A smooth mouthfeel with a subtle mix of fruit, a hint of clove oil and cracked black pepper corns. Sweet spices, vanilla and cinnamon add to the wood’s nutty contribution.

Finish: A lasting and distinctly palatable balance of exotic fruits and spices. Milk chocolate creaminess and finally some smooth nutty flavours.
