I'm somewhat inexperienced with Non-Cubans but recently tried an Arturo Fuente Don Carlos No. 3 and was amazed at its flavour. So reading up on Fuente I had to try the Opus X range seeing as it has such a great reputation.
Well, I know I should have left this for a year or more in my humidor but I also bought a couple of larger size Opus Xs so I thought I'd give it a go, young as it is.
Got to tell you I'm glad I did. This is one great cigar. Very rich honey & wood flavours. Quite sweet at times with a fair bit of strength. Draw was perfect but burn needed a little help at times. Probably not for beginners but it depends on how you like your cigar. I'm probably an intermediate level smoker and I'm quickly finding out that I like my cigars as I like my whisky. Richly sweet and flavoursome like a Laphroaig 18 yr old. I can only imagine what a bit of time would add to this cigar. Its already stunning.
