ARTURO FUENTE

Arturo Fuente cigars are consistently rated among the best cigars in the world. Their reputation for unsurpassed quality, with both flavour and construction, has amassed a loyal following among cigar connoisseurs.

In 2012, the Fuente companies celebrated 100 years of hard work, dedication and family tradition. When the Fuente companies was established in 1912, Arturo Fuente would have never dreamed his passion for cigars would become a global benchmark for the cigar industry.

From the very beginning the focus of making a Fuente cigar was quality: quality tobacco, quality craftsmanship, and taking the time necessary to make a truly remarkable cigar. "We don't hurry thing; we just do things the way they are supposed to be done." says Carlos Fuente Sr.

ANEJO

Rich maduro wrapper leaves aged in Cognac barrels make the Arturo Fuente Anejo cigar a unique smoke.

The Anejo Reserva 8-8-8 cigar is considered a medium to full-bodied smoke made with the very best tobacco filler and binder from Chateau de la Fuente plantation in the Dominican republic, with a 5-year-old Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper tobacco.

Tasting Notes

This cigar begins with rich flavours of oak and cedar, this is nicely balanced out with a beautiful sweetness which gradually develops into bitter, coffee notes.

These complex flavours develop and give a wonderfully, smooth slow burning finish, with flavours of nuts and wood dominating the palate, although the sweetness is still apparent with an underlying chocolate taste which adds a bit of depth.

This looks beautiful, long and elegant and the dark almost oscuro wrapper smells amazingly fragrant. Draw, burn, super white ash and smoke output are all first class, and the flavours are a nice and fragrant mix of sweet spices, but body not as strong as the wrapper suggested or as an Opus X. Still this is very good value as they are cheaper and this lasted almost two hours.

Jesus!! By far the spiciest smoke I have tried. The tobaccos are fine and you can taste the age in them too, but the retrohale made me sneeze and made my eyes water a bit. I’m glad I tried it and if you like cigars that have a smaller ring gage but still pack a punch then you might enjoy this. However, if you are willing to put an extra tenner in you can get the ‘eye of the shark’ which is one of the best cigars in the world
