Description

The groundbreaking Angel's Envy have bottled a travel retail exclusive at 50% ABV.

This is their Kentucky staight bourbon finished in port wine barrels, imparting rich flavours of spiced cherry and anise in addition to those notes of sweet candy corn and vanilla biscuits.

Angel’s Envy is made in small batches of six to eight barrels at a time. Their line of two Bourbons and one Rye are the only products that currently come from Louisville Distilling.

Long-time industry veteran Lincoln Henderson founded both the distillery and the brand. Every aspect of production tightly controlled — from yeast strains through distillation. They also brought secondary aging techniques used in Scotland to American Bourbon, for the first time.

After aging their Whiskeys about six years in new oak, they finished them — the Bourbons in Port Wine casks and the Rye -- in Cognac/Rum casks. 



Tasting Notes

 

Nose: Rich aromas of sweet vanilla, toasted nuts, raisins, and maple syrup, balanced with a subtle hint of dark fruit and port.

Palate: A harmonious blend of creamy vanilla, toasted oak, sticky dark cherries, and warm baking spices, complemented by the sweet, juicy red-fruit influence of the port casks.

Finish: Long, warming, and decadent, fading into lingering notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and a touch of Port sweetness
