In 1911 Glenside., a bay gelding with a pronounced blaze, was ridden to victory in the Grand National by one of the few amateur jockeys in the race.
Jack Anthony Glenside was the only horse to complete the course without mishap, a remarkable achievement since he was carrying No 13 and started at odds of 20-1.
