This cigar starts of very smooth with a nice oaky flavour which is complimented by a little hint of leather and earth. Very good smoke output and immaculate construction.
On the retro hale you get notes of citrus as well as that earthy undertone, the retro isn’t too harsh or hot. The smoke really fills the room with a lovely aroma of coffee and oak which I think is beautiful. I would say the overall flavour profile consists of mostly oak, earth with notes leather throughout. You do get a nice citrus finish on the back end during the begin two thirds but it isn’t something that is constant throughout, it’s a nice surprise every time it comes through. As far as construction goes, the burn has been perfect throughout the entire cigar, no need for any touch ups or re lights. The draw again, is perfect in line with my preference. Ash stacks well throughout and yeah, I have no complaints. I would personally say mid afternoon to a late night cigar for this particular edition, but I would say make sure you have a good amount of time to really sit and relax, that way you will get the most out of this beautiful stick. As for a pairing, I think personally I would go for a nice rum, maybe a Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva which is a beautiful Venezuelan Rum.
Now for my overall thoughts on this cigar… As you can probably tell, I have really enjoyed this cigar, absolute pleasure from beginning to the end, no complaints regarding construction, no complaints on the flavour profile, I think that works very well and for me just an overall impressive stick that I would highly recommend.
