Description

A collection of forty-two different whiskies from the length and breadth of Scotland, selected and bottled by Livingstone in partnership with Elixir Distillers.

Each whisky represents a character from the Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, with illustrations by Sir Quentin Blake and character notes by Dave Broom.

The First Witch is one of four smoky whiskies in The Witches series.

The ringleader and chief mischief-maker, the First Witch required a whisky wreathed in dark magic.
 
Blender Oliver Chilton has achieved just that with this Islay single malt. Matured in Pedro Ximénez butts, there's a dark richness beneath the dancing smoke.
 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Refreshing oranges, plum tart, candied lemon and sultanas give way to marine notes of driftwood and smoky bonfires.

Palate: Black pepper, and burnt orange surrounded by a thick layer of peat smoke. Notes of wool, smoked oysters.

Finish: Spicy & peppery with dried fruit, dark chocolate and drying oak.
