I can’t answer for the Dunhill original Rolls but I have tried the Peterson DeLux Navy Roll incarnation. The two are supposed to be versions of the same blend but there are some notable differences. Charatan Rolls seem to have a more peppery Perique that comes through from the start and the Virginia is a little grassier and hay like (just my opinion). The Peterson version is more fruity, figgy and date like and that stays with you longer in the bowl, and it’s lighter on the pepper than the Charatan version.
Both are top notch VaPers and imho it depends on what you’re after, pepper and spice or complex fruits. For me it’s the latter but that’s not to say I’m not going to enjoy every bowl of this Charatan blend.
