Description
An historic first aged release of Providence rum from Haiti’s Distillerie de Port-au-Prince.
Distilled on 29th September 2019. It is made from fresh sugar cane syrup, which is distilled in a copper pot still and then aged for 3 years in ex-Caroni rum casks.
This gives the rum a rich, complex flavour profile with hints of vanilla, caramel, and spice.
The distillery, one of the newest in the Caribbean, was founded by Herbert Barbancourt-Linge, a descendent of the Barbancourt family - famous for rum making in Haiti for over 150 years.
Herbert has proudly revived pot distilled rum making in Haiti which had vanished in recent years.
Bottled at 52.14% ABV, this rum has a limited availability.
Tasting Notes
This rum offers beautiful aromas of powdered sugar, freshly cut grass and flambeed bananas, followed by notes of grilled pineapple, fresh cane sugar, tobacco and cooking spices throughout the vibrant palate.
