Flavours are well balanced and each leaf can be identified by their taste and aroma.

There is no forcefulness from the Latakia of this mixture and it doesn't dominate with its smokiness.

There is sweet spiciness from the Oriental which leads throughout, backed up by the Virginia's sweetness and more grassy, earthy flavours.

The Latakia is there providing its rich smokiness like a camp fire smouldering in the background.

With a deep, woody, smoky flavour it is quite a savoury smoke that satisfies the taste buds.

To begin with there's a slight peppery taste but as you continue to appreciate the bowl the flavours take on a creamy quality, a mellow oak and musky grass.

1 x 10g Peterson Irish Cask (Irish Oak)

A savoury smoke, though it's not without sweetness. There's a bitterness to be enjoyed here and it's of raw cocoa or unsweetened coffee.

As you continue to smoke the slight bitterness becomes less defined and turns to a nutty creaminess. It's unsurprising why the tobacco is called Irish Cask as the woody flavour is predominant and reminiscent of oak barrels that mature premium sherry.

Once opened, the tin gives it's pure tobacco and woody scent. There's chocolate and a meek acetic quality to its fragrance. The aromas of hay and fermentation delight the nose.

To begin there's a tantalising bitter smoky quality to the taste of this blend, which evolves elegantly into a smooth gentle woody whiskey flavour.

Its aroma is of honey and whiskey, almost mead like with peaty notes.

To call this tobacco an aromatic is no lie and to say it's true to the leaves is honest, there's the best of both worlds here.

Wintergreen is a group of plants. Wintergreen once commonly referred to plants that remain green throughout the winter. The term evergreen is now more commonly used for this characteristic.

Most species of the shrub genus Gaultheria demonstrate this characteristic and are called wintergreens in North America, the most common generally being the Eastern Teaberry (Gaultheria Procumbens).

Wintergreen berries, from the Gaultheria Procumbens are used medicinally. Native American brewed a tea from the leaves to alleviate rheumatic symptoms, headache, fever, sore throat and various aches and pains. During the American revolution, wintergreen leaves were used as a substitute for tea, which was scarce.
