Fresh off the recent launch of its Prohibition Collection, today Buffalo Trace is lifting the curtain on its 2023 Antique Collection.

The Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) is an annual release of limited-edition, highly sought-after whiskies produced by the Buffalo Trace Distillery.

Buffalo Trace is a renowned American whiskey distillery known for producing a wide range of whiskies, including bourbon and rye, under various brand names. Its most notable whiskey is perhaps Pappy Van Winkle, however, the distillery is also the home of popular whiskies such as Blanton’s, Eagle Rare, Weller and E.H. Taylor.

The BTAC is typically released in the fall of each year and consists of several different expressions, each with its own unique characteristics.

The whiskies in the collection are highly regarded by collectors, enthusiasts and connoisseurs due to their exceptional quality, rarity and complexity.

One of five whiskeys in the 2023 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, George T. Stagg Bourbon is aged 15 years and four months and is bottled at a powerful 135 proof.

These barrels were pulled from Buffalo Trace's Warehouses C, I, K, L and M.

Nose: Arguably the deepest and most complex of the entire 2023 BTAC lineup. Rich notes of dessert chocolate meld with some red fruits. It’s big and earthy at first sip, due to that high proof.

Palate: Bringing a bit of orange zest first, then moves into a tobacco finish. A drop of water opens up the dram, giving more access to those dark chocolate notes.

Finish: The long finish is incredibly pleasing.
