Description

The Famous Grouse is a brand of blended Scotch whisky, first produced by Matthew Gloag & Son in 1896, and currently produced and owned by The Edrington Group.

The single malt whiskies used in The Famous Grouse blend include the Edrington-owned Highland Park and The Macallan.  Its emblem is the Red Grouse, Scotland's national game bird.

An older bottling of Famous Grouse Finest Scotch Whisky, bottled in the 1990s after maturing in oak casks.

This is a litre bottle.

Please note as this is a vintage bottle, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).

Tasting Notes

Nose: A crisp, light nose offering up notes of toffee apples, hints of dried flowers and biscuity barley.

Palate: Balanced, biscuit-laden palate with a core of thick, creamy malt. Just a hint of spice and the vaguest whisper of smoke really bring a great deal of complexity.

Finish: A slightly sweet, malty finish.
