Amancaya, like its older brother, presents a harmonious balance between the Argentine and Bordeaux styles.
The word Amancaya itselt, is the native Indian name of a flower found at high altitudes in the Andes in the Mendoza area.
Bringing together the wine making expertise from a Bordeaux First Growth Chateau with the growing experience of one of South America's foremost wine teams, the Catena family is now in its third generation and considered to be one of the finest producers in Mendoza, famous for the Malbec wines.
Amancaya is a fruity wine, due to the higher percentage of Malbec and shorter ageing.
Intense, deep crimson colour; On the nose, aromas of red and dark fruit, with redcurrants and plums, also some mint and cedar. The bouquet fills out with notes of vanilla, spices and mocha. Fine, mellow tannins. Very pleasant soft mouth-feel. Deep and aromatic.
Overall this Amancaya is supple and suave, with restrained sweetness and a fine-grained texture.
