For a lot of whisky drinkers, Ardbeg is the number one distillery when it comes to huge, smoky, classic west coast single malts. Despite huge demand and a growing reputation as a collectors malt, Ardbeg is still a relatively small distillery producing just 2,100,000 litres per year. It is amazing to think that just over a decade ago the distillery only had three core range bottles and a handful of limited-edition releases. Ardbeg has had a tumultuous history.
