Response to Daniel – Daniel, what a journey your review took me on — from bourbon tasting to bodily expulsion to American politics, all in under 100 words. Truly, a masterclass in chaos. I must admit, I hadn’t realised Makers Mark had the power not only to offend your palate but to trigger a full ideological episode. Imagine sipping a wheated bourbon so smooth, so elegantly crafted, that it causes a complete psychological unravelling. Remarkable. For most of us, a glass of Maker’s is a gentle, warming experience — toasty, mellow, with vanilla and soft spice. But in your case, it seems to have been more of an exorcism. Fascinating. Your conclusion, of course, is brilliant: you blame the spirit not for what it tastes like, but for who endorses it. One wonders — had you discovered it was favoured by Churchill, would you have declared it Churchillian and poured yourself a second? Or would that have caused another episode? In any case, I hope your next bottle of bourbon is paired more with your taste preferences and less with your… political affiliations. As for me, I’ll continue sipping Maker’s neat, enjoying its balance and depth, unbothered, unshaken — and blessedly untriggered.

This Bourbon was nasty! I literally threw up after the first sip, poured the rest down the sink. It was that bad. Found out after, Hillary Clinton endorses Makers Mark which caused me to throw up again.

And I would recommend, Robert, that you stop talking bollocks and start to describe using plain, simple English

On the nose we perceive caramel and sugar aromas with hints of vanilla and fruits. The palate is more savoury than expected, with toasted almonds and cinnamon flavours. Light finish with a slight vanilla sweetness and lots of spice. I would recommend this iconic bourbon for mixing.
