ROMEO Y JULIETA

Named after William Shakespeare’s tragic lovers, the origins of Romeo y Julieta as a Havana date back to 1875.

The brand rose to international fame during the early years of the 20th Century under the direction of Don ‘Pepin’ Rodriguez, a talented promoter who was amongst the first to recognise the power of the cigar band. During his heyday no less than 20,000 different bands were used in the production of cigars.

Winston Churchill became a devotee of the brand and following his visit to Havana in 1946, his name has not only been commemorated on a band, but it has also served to describe the marque’s most famous size – Romeo y Julieta Churchills.

Romeo y Julieta’s balanced and aromatic blend of selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone make it the classic medium bodied Havana.

Today Romeo y Julieta is as well known around the world as ever and offers one of the widest range of tripa larga, totalmente a mano – long filler, totally handmade – sizes of any Havana brand.

CEDROS DE LUXE NO. 3

In line with Romeo’s Cedros code, the Cedros No.3 is a Petit Corona. It is as good a cigar of this size as you will find; an easy and refined smoke.

Tasting Notes

Consistent high quality of draw and strength. Sweet, creamy with hints of chocolate.

----

85 / 100

"Wrinkly with a good cap, this petit corona burns unevenly. After some wet wood and mushroom notes, the cigar warms to show medium-bodied coffee and leather flavors..."

I have only recently started smoking cigars and don't pretend to know a lot about the subject, but I know what I like! as the old saying goes. I have been trying different combinations of size and make of cigar and found the Romeo y Julieta Cedros No. 3 smoother, richer and less bitter to the taste than its equivalent Cohiba. Mind you, 20 years ago I couldn't tell the difference between a Pinot and a Cabernet! written by Stewart

I have always smoked these, gave out a box at my daughters wedding recently. Haven't laughed so much in years, all the cool street dudes upchucking after trying to smoke them like fags. We oldies enjoyed them with draught Double Diamond, bliss, a perfect combination. written by anthony
