"Every month, for over a year, I had been working on blends with a special tobacco from Panama. The unique flavour of Panamanian tobacco, that I so thoroughly enjoy, somehow had to be shared with the world. Creating 18 different Panamanian blends, I smoked the third one in line and knew this was Black Market! The mystery of Panamanian tobacco and the crate like box in which Black Market is displayed illustrates this cigar’s journey."

As with the rest of the Black Market cigars, it is made in Tobacos de Oriente in Danli, Honduras. The Black Market blend is a mixture of Panamanian and Honduran fillers with a Sumatran binder and Nicaraguan wrapper.

Score: 5/10 Smoke time: 60 minutes - **Flavour Profile**: Earthy with dark coffee flavors in the second third. Increased spiciness as the cigar progresses. - **Construction and Burn**: Initially good, with an even burn in the second third. However, it required an extra light and deeper draws in the final third, indicating some construction or burn issues. - **Smoking Experience**: Became difficult to smoke towards the end, with bitterness developing in the final third. Overall, it was an okay experience until the final part. - **Aftereffects**: Noted a negative impact on digestion, which could have been exacerbated by pairing with red wine and cheese.


Im going to put this at a 3 out of 5 simply because Im not sure if I disliked it or liked it.. to begin with I thought it was horrible but as i got into the 2nd 3rd of it it was better but Im not sure if that was me liking the change from the harsh start to the milder 2nd or I got used to it? I would probably try another in the future on the off chance I have a different experience.


I have had two of these and I am amazed by the difference . the first was lovely. very smooth, very easy burn and a joy. the second is perhaps the worst cigar I have ever had. it was impossible to draw, I needed to keep relighting and eventually give up. dreadful


I was so impressed with my first one of these that I ordered another and am now going to order some more because the second was every bit as good as the first. I usually only smoke Cubans rather than new world and only got onto the Alec Bradley Black Market because of a recommendation in Robert Graham in Cambridge. This robust cigar packs flavour, which others have done a fab job of describing. It’s not for the faint hearted but will reward those who like a smoke that delivers a bit of a punch (in a good way!). The draw is excellent and it burns smoothly. I had to relight a couple of times but that’s normal for me with all cigars as I don’t like to puff so much that the smoke gets hot. The cigar relit easily and burned well. I got around 50 mins out of each of the sticks I have smoked, smoking them all the way down. Even on the last few puffs when the smoke was running pretty hot it was with reluctance that I had to accept that the end was nigh, which to me is always the sign of a great cigar. I am awarding 5 because of the combination of quality and price, which makes these an affordable regular smoke.


I like these little smokes, they have some attitude. Good draw and quality smoke

