Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Principe Maduro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 23 May, 2023
Im afraid to say that this was a disappointment. As a big fan of the Padron 2000 and maduros in general so my expectations were high at this price point, its a smaller cigar than the 2000 too. It was slightly bitter, more spicy, a hint of sweetness, which was nice, but I only detected that a couple of times. I smoked it to the end and it lasted about half an hour. The draw and build quality were of a high standard but there are bigger and better maduros out there that are cheaper, including the 2000 maduro, in my opinion.

I had a very disappointing experience with this. It tasted salty all the way to the end. A friend raves about the cigar. But mine was a waste of money

Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Torpedo Natural Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Wednesday 18 November, 2020
Often overlooked in favour of maduros maduros maduros, but I actually find the 64 naturals, particularly the torpedo, more complex and refined in flavour and aroma. The maduro is strong, spicy and borders on harsh with some bitterness in the dark choc, earth, leather and black pepper profile. The natural is light-medium with more light wood, cream, damp earth, cocoa and more balanced pepper zing. Sometimes they can often have complete wind-tunnel draws with zero resistance at all, which can make them burn hot and harsh, but on the whole the construction is very good from Padrón. The only real issue with these is that here in the UK they cost an absolute fortune, so I rarely buy them here despite often wanting to. In the US they retail for roughly £13-14 each and £180 for a full box.

Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Torpedo Natural Cigar - Box of 20
Date Added: Monday 29 April, 2019
Good cigars, but practically no resistance on the draw whatsoever - despite being very careful to only snip off the bare minimum from the cap - like sucking through an empty straw. I noticed these cigars have a very messy bunching at the foot full of large gaps and have a very lightweight feel in the hand, as if under-filled. Burned well however, with some lovely flavours. It reminded me in some ways of a good Sancho Panza Belicosos, only more complexity and richness from the second third on. Started very mild - woody, a little cocoa and sweet cream, but from the opening the peppery spice (especially through the nose) was quite aggressive for such a soft bodied cigar, slightly unbalanced in that respect. Developed to a solid medium body with some manure and light earthiness. A little saltiness and mild leather notes coming in in the back third along with a faint papery dryness and a little bitterness that lingered on the very short, dry finish. Finish was dry, woody and nutty. Certainly nice cigars but there are many better ones for such a high price.

Padron 2000 Robusto Maduro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Tuesday 11 August, 2015
This is an excellent cigar. Medium to full bodied. Sweet tobacco aroma. Rich flavours of dark chocolate and espresso coffee. Easy draw. In a nutshell, everything I want in a cigar. I know this will be controversial to many, but personally I prefer these over any Cuban I've tried. Try them for yourself and make up your own mind. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
